Josh Keefe is an award-winning journalist.
He is currently reporting from the friendly confines of his Ford Transit van as he travels the country, finding and telling stories from the road.
In July 2023, Josh Keefe won first place at the Tennessee Press Awards in three different categories: Best News Reporting, Investigative Reporting and Public Service.
Selected work:
“The life and death of Drandon Brown.” The Tennessean.
“In trove of officer misconduct records, Maine sheriffs hide the worst offenses.” Bangor Daily News
“Unraveling the collapse of a Maine real estate empire.” Bangor Daily News.
I am a reporter and journalist who was most recently working as an investigative reporter for The Tennessean, the paper of record in Nashville.
At the beginning of August 2023, I left my job at The Tennessean so my partner and I could finally do what we had discussed for years: explore the United States from a home on wheels.
I have also written features, profiles and reported essays covering a wide variety of subjects, from the origins of the modern traffic stop to winless high school football teams.
My investigative reporting has won national, regional, and state awards and has covered everything from the death penalty to tax loopholes for the rich.
